How are you guys holding down the front of your CAs? Mine needs some weight and I have access to some suitcase weights, anyone build a bracket for those on a CA? Or would I be better off with front wheel or side weights. I have new tires and tubes in the front so they could be filled, but didn’t think that would make much difference.

Thanks in advance!

I've got front wheel weights and they'll help a little but not a whole lot. Those engine weights are pretty hard to find

Pretty easy to modify a JD garden tractor weight bracket to bolt onto the front cultivator
mounts to use suitcase weights.Nice thing about suitcase weights is they are easy to take
on and off as needed.

Have you added a 3 pt? Most any of the factory equipment can be balanced with a pair of side weight and if needed a set of wheel weight. If you installed one of those aftermarket 3pt kit, you need to find anything heavy that is available. Maybe a seat out front for the MIL
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

Gary, got any pictures of one modified, sounds like a good option...

Paul, still on the factory AC gear, but moving snow with a AC blade I could use some steering weight...

No pictures but really all that needs to be done is maybe drill a hole or two to line up
with the CA depending on the bracket.I don't know which JD garden tractors my weight brackets came off as a friend of mine had a pallet of them and gave me several. Some
were wider than others. They are well made heavy duty brackets.

On my CA I welded a piece of steel 6 inchs long by 1/2 inch to the top of the axle with a small piece of steel welded on top of the 6 inch piece to keep the suitcase wts from moving sideways. I just use them when the rototiller is being used, it is easy to take wts off.
