 Topic: Adding Loader Joystick 7020

I have a 78 7020 black belly. It has 2 remotes on the back. We use them for the loader most times but when hooking up to an implement, obviously have to unhook the loader hoses for the implement hoses. My question is, can you plumb in a joystick valve that would be solely used for the loader so the remotes remain open? I have read about power beyond ports etc., but curious what the experts know. Are there open ports on the Hydraulic pump/valve on the rear of the machine that are for this purpose? Wanting to tackle it this winter.

If you are happy with how things work now, I might consider just adding a third remote to the tractor, having it available for other jobs. Also, doing that you could plumb it to a joystick valve and have your two original remotes available for other things. Having a joystick valve assembly inside the cab for me would not be what I'd want. There are joystick valves that are located outside the cab with cables/levers inside the cab. They, of course, cost more.

I definitely don't mind how things work now. The only real problem that bothers me is not having the loader operational while baling. Most of what I bale is hilly enough that the bales do a little traveling after I kick them out and undoubtedly end up on a windrow. I'd like to have that loader available to grab the bale instead of getting out and trying to roll it. For the most part the issue is pretty minor but i've been tweaking the tractor over the last couple of years and really liking the thought of having a full time loader.
To respond further, I don't necessarily have an issue with putting a joystick valve in the tractor. I'll take your advice and make sure it fits and leaves me enough room in the cab to be comfortable, but, if I do ultimately decide to do it, is it simply running a line from the rear pump to the joystick valve and from the valve back to the pump? Getting the loader lines into the joystick valve would be the next question.

The 7020 has a closed center load sensing hydraulic system. A power beyond valve would not work because it is open center. The joystick would have to be a load sensing closed center valve. you would have to tee into the pressure, return and load sense of the existing remote.

You will need a load compensator valve (not a power beyond). Then T into pressure line and compensator line. Plus a return to sump line. MACK

unless you have someone who really knows hydraulics, the simplest way is an electric diverter valve . IT will make two remotes out of one. We get them for loader grapple third function for less than $200 plus your fittings.

Surplus Center has a Prince stack valve for Load Sense application. They also have manual and electric double selector valves.

we have a 7020 loader tractor that the previous owner has 4 remotes on. 3 was optional from factory, IDK how he even rigged the lever for the 4th one, but its all there.
IMO for how easy it is to add more valves to the system, I wouldnt do a hoystick or spool valve setup in the cab, I would just add remotes.
