I think another forum member had asked this not to long ago but I don't remember the responses.
Say your going straight and tractor is drifting to the left you have to turn the wheel quit a bit to right to get it to do anything but the other direction is fine. What you think is going on. Could a leak do this. I say that becouse I notice the dust is wet around like the lower dash bolts and where the clutch pedal goes through lower dash but its not enough to make a drip. IV opened lower dash and can't see a leak. But I'm going to try to clean off all the fittings on steering colum see if its any of them. Thanks |

Mine has the same symptoms and a o-ring kit from Agco took care of it. How is rebuilding the steering cylinder going to fix it being damp below the dash? Edited by victoryallis - 12 Sep 2017 at 10:12am |

It's not. The wandering steering probably has nothing to do with the orbitrol. If there's a leak at the orbitrol, a seal kit will take care of that, but not the wandering complaint.

Dr even if the steering ram is dry. I had it done maybe four years ago when seal went and was blowing oil out.
When you say orbital you mean what steering wheel goes into. Whats the kit number victory allis. Thanks |

I would have to call my dealer to get the number it's been 10 plus years since I did mine. Yes it's up under the dash sorta ackward to access.
If you can't find a seal kit let me know I will find out a number for you. You also will need some tiny 12 point sockets to disassemble it. |

Steering cylinders can (and do) leak internally, causing a steering control issue. Just because it's dry on the outside doesn't mean it isn't leaking inside.

I'd listen to dr. on this one. We had same issue a couple years ago. Same thing no leaking out of steering cylinder. He said its cylinder 99.9 % of time. Rebuilt cylinder been working fine ever since.

Your steering control valve leaks either way it needs resealed do that if it still drifts redo the cylinder. Do one repair then if necessary do the second.
