Im sure thats not safe but i done it anyway 2 see if it would come down and it did. then i moved the handel to put it back up and it went up fast and strong but won't come back down agin.

Hold position linkage not adjusted right, traction booster linkage, or valve inside pump sticking. MACK

I had a CA that did the same thing. I took the pump off three or four times and cleaned it and tried moving the adjustment screws, but nothing helped. Finally, I chained a heavy weight to the lift arm and moved the control level up and down several times and whatever was stuck freed up and the lift worked worked fine. Might be worth a try.

If ( when) you take the pump apart for cleaning, be sure to do it on a clean bench with lots of light. When one of them itty, bitty check balls pops out, rolls onto your concrete floor... be prepared to spend 2 1/2 HOURS finding it......
yeah....I found out the hard way....sigh... took 3 cleanings for me.... Jay |
