Just tuned in to see a D17 Ser. IV sell Diesel for $13,000!

Looks like super gussied up stuff that's not that common is still bringing good money even in a soft market....

What did the WD45 Diesel bring? Appeared to be the only one in the collection.....

The 7040, 7050, and 7060, assuming there was nothing majorly wrong with them, did seem like steals......If I'm remember right, I think each one brought under the 5k range?

Did I see a D-17 LP sell for $1000? Maybe it was a D-19. I though they were sought after.
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not sure.

I've been watching all day and am betting some people are starting to get a reality check or at least their feelings hurt with what some of these tractors are bringing.  D19 propane under $1000 USD and D15II with hyd loader under $1600 USD just to name a few.

Stuff was very low all day except for a few items. Lots of good deals. Kind of sad to know all our stuff is worth less than the cost of the paint job on it...

Probably one of the worst auctions I've seen all year.  I think a lot has to do with Mecum - nobody trusts them.  watched some today and they'd pretend they had a bid then drop down and beg.  The auctioneers had no idea what they were selling at all.  You could tell by the way they tried talking about things.  I see now all the tractors have the "no reserve" tag off of them.  better watch out who you'll be bidding against tomorrow - betting it will be the auctioneers!  Sad - met Mr. Nesbitt at a gathering of the orange once.

I don't know this to be gospel truth, Creston, but here's the story I heard. As you know, all 440's are steigers painted orange, but with a few cosmetic differences. Namely a different grill. Supposedly, the last 10 440s didn't even have the cosmetic differences. They were 100 percent steiger, just painted orange. But technically, still a 440. Darrel

The tractors were not started and driven thru the line. I think maybe  that would have helped a bit. You could start yourself beforehand if you wanted to.

Who all has gone to the auction? I have been to the Davenport auction and feel that they do a good job with the auctions. Did anyone do any bidding on the forum? I bid on a couple but onsite bidders took over where I left off! George had a few tractors we had in our collection at one time.

Looks like a few very few brought good money and most were give away.. The plows and tires were less than scrap.. I'm sure George lost big $$$ on the sale.. Sad to see our sheds are full and worth so very little in today's economy..
