Trump it would create more jobs if he signed and executive order for AGCO to bring back orange tractors? (this post part farm equipment and part political) but tractors is more farm equip than politics!

Probably wouldn't work Shameless. AGCO would just grab a bunch of tractors built overseas and paint them orange. Wait a sec, they already did that for a few years in the early 90s. The color would be the only thing "Allis" about them.

I would much rather he sign an executive order lifting all agricultural embargos we have with half the countries in the world to open up more markets...Ethenol and bio fuels are going away...As they should because subsidies were the only thing that made them pencil out...We need more available markets....I wouldn't mind seeing him bring Allis Chalmers back as well but I'll settle for new trade partners

I dont think ethanol is going anywhere. They are using junk gas and using quality ethanol to get the octane levels they need. It will never be much bigger than it is, but it's not going away.

Aaron it's going away...Refineries will have to retrofit back to producing 87 and 93 octane...Corn squeezings will be a thing of the past in two years....

Id love to see Allis Chalmers tractors make a return, just like the Versatile tractors returning to their original colors. Unfortunately I think the closest we will ever get to an Orange farm tractor again today is Kubota. The Kubota's are pretty darn near the same color as Allis, and with Kubota expanding their Ag line up, I could see more Allis guys going with them. It won't be long till Kubota has an Articulated 4WD, and imagine they will have a combine in North America at some future point. AGCO just assumes everyone wants MF, Challenger, or Fendt. I really am not sure how well the "Challenger" brand is doing outside of the tracked tractors. I don't think they really needed to turn the "Challenger" tracked tractor into an entire brand to be honest. Could have sold the tracked tractors and the 4WD in Europe under MF and perhaps Fendt. Then sold the tracked tractors in North America either in AGCO Orange, or sold them Silver under the AGCOSTAR brand, which might have helped with the White guys as well. Really AGCO should be AGCO Orange tractors for North America, and Massey- Ferguson for both North America/ Europe market with Fendt. No need for the Challenger brand. |

Jason B . back when the agco was still orange right before they dropped the orange actually. I was thinking of trading my New Holland TC25D with loader and backhoe for an Agco but they didn't look that good to me. Especially the hoe. So I kept it a little longer and traded for a New Holland Boomer 50 with new loader and used my old backhoe attachment. Anyways that was a mistake . didn't realise it was actually a rebranded LS . had that for 5-6 years blew the steering motor up 3 times and some other small things. Anyway just traded it for a new Kubota TLB47 that thing is a beast. Also have a Kubota b7100 we purchased in 1977 with a trencher on the back still going strong and its worn out a truck load of ditchwitch chains. Now all my tractors are orange.

What would have made a lot of sense is to merge the the AGCO and Challenger lines and offer them in either AC orange or CAT yellow. |

I don't think color matters like it use to. Except those who like trading lots of green paper for green paint.

At my job at a local conservation area, we have a New Holland TN60 with a loader on it in the park for maintenance jobs around the park, but that New Holland TN60 has been a real POS, in short we have been constantly repairing things on it, stupid things that should not be breaking. That TN60 New Holland 60HP is pretty pathetic that they have, you know it's really bad when a 45HP Massey Ferguson 250 will out pull it, and the MF is 2WD, vs. 4WD on the New Holland. Everyone can not wait for it to be replaced. We have company mechanic's that do all the regular upkeep and service intervals on the tractor as well, so it's not like it's been abused. Don't think they will get another New Holland as a replacement. As for my personal sideline, 2nd job with my part time lawn business snow removal business, I also looked at an AGCO ST22A, and an ST28 compact tractor at one time. Good tractors and seemed well built, but with AGCO dropping the orange line, I was worried about parts availability down the road. I was not a huge fan of the Kubota single foot pedal design on the Grand L series, as (in my opinion only) the foot petal was uncomfortable to me, and when pushing snow 8-12 hour days, I wanted something with comfort, much preferred the twin foot pedal design, like what Deere has, and ultimately I went with a John Deere 3520 with cab, loader, and blower for the foot pedal design, I also liked the cab better on the 3520, I was also looking at a B3030 Kubota at the time. Not saying Kubota is bad in any way, just found the Deere to suit my needs better. Kubota has a great product, and both my local Deere and Kubota/ AGCO dealers have great service and support. |

That would have made sense as well. To be honest, I really think it would have been better had Claas bought the rights and the Challenger line from CAT instead of AGCO. CAT was already supplying the Challenger 35,45, 55 tracked machines to Claas in Europe painted in White and Green for sales over seas. In turn, as part of the deal, Claas was selling the Claas Lexion combine line in North America under CAT colors and built in Omaha Nebraska. If CAT was wanting to sell tracked machines and designs, I think Claas should have grabbed them up, and built them at the Omaha plant along side the modern Claas Lexion combines, which are also Black and Yellow today. Without Challenger to worry about, AGCO could then have strengthen the MF,AGCO and Fendt lines for North America. But since these are just thoughts, why is the company today even called AGCO? To me, the world wide company should be called: "Massey Ferguson Farm Equipment Inc." The planters and bailers already say: "White by Massey Ferguson". or "Hesston by Massey Ferguson" and unfortunately but likely soon, it will say the same thing on the Gleaner combines. "Allis -Gleaner Company" or AGCO does not fit their current business plan, no orange tractors left, and to me the name "AGCO" no longer needs to be used. |

Ethanol is not only here to stay, but will grow. Biden will bring back the CAFE standards for gas powered vehicles, which will require much higher compression engines to meet these standards. The only way to have a high compression engine, is with high octane fuel, which the cheapest way to achieve this is with ethanol. Yes, I know everybody is going to go to electric vehicles, problem is, the infrastructure isn't there to support it, and is a ways out.

Correct me if I wrong, but I think AGCO does not own the rights to the name “ Allis Chalmers “ and AGCO only got the Gleaner name . But the eighties did a trick on a lot of the farm equipment companies. I am little surprised that Massey Ferguson survived through all that because I think they were in big financial trouble too, was some reorganization of some of their different divisions.

Agco doesn't own the Allis Chalmers name they sold it off to Brigs at one time they was trying to get it back. As for they yellow Challenger your going to see it fade away like the Allis Orange. Agco wants Fendt and Massy. Agco is pushing for more Fendt dealers I know a lot of Massy dealers are going to start being Fendt dealers

I think AGCO is trying to promote Fendt as the "Cadillac brand which makes the MF the "Chevy" brand. So may of the parts are interchangeable in the tractors, it's just like ten years ago with the AGCO Allis tractors vs MF, basically the same except for color and badges.
