Does anyone have a spring for the thermostat that they could measure the diameter and the length for me? I'm missing mine but have a spring for a moped clutch that looks to be about the right size. Is that it's only purpose is to hold the thermostat in place?

I think it would be best to just buy a new thermostat, they do not cost that much.

I plan on getting a new thermostat. Just seeing if the spring i have laying around would work or not. If it just keeps the thermostat in place then as long as it's close to the right diameter to go over the thermostat flange and is long enough to apply sufficient pressure then I'm thinking it will work. If its the right size then I'll be ordering one. I don't understand why they would put a spring in there to begin with. Wouldn't just a normal housing that holds the thermostat in place be fine or is there something I'm missing about what the spring does? |

Did you ever find the spring? If so where? I need one for a WD45 and am having trouble locating it.

I sent an email to oktractor and never heard back. Tried calling Norm and all I got was an answering machine with a computer recorded standard message. Wasn't even sure I had the right number. Guess I'll try again. Thanks!
