Later black models had more lifting power at the 3-point hitch. Very late models had Bosch injectors. Several other little things were changed.

Maroon chassis 7080 used scavenger pump to transfer leak-off oil from power director housing to the georotor sump housing. Black chassis used a sump under the power director housing and steel tubing to gravity flow oil back to the gerotor sump housing. Much better system. I would think black 7580 would be this way also. Late 7080's had increased 3-point lift capacity. I have a 1980 7080 and mine does not have increased lift capacity. It was a serial number break thing and was carried on into the 8000 series. I'm sure others will add more. Mike

If I remember correctly, there were some improvements made to the variable pressure/variable volume pump system also.

Gravity flow oil back to the pump sump was before the end of the maroon series and all 7580's had it, so late 1976 I think.
