New family member you wished well even though you didn't know what it was.
Mom brought her baby up to the house looking up at the living room window as if to say here it is. then mom laid down and allowed the frisky fawn to run around. Another mom brought her baby for us to see yesterday but I have not uploaded the pictures yet ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

That is very cool! As much as I love hunting them, I enjoy watching them. It never gets old for me.

I'd agree with that. My oldest daughter and I saw a pair just like that while checking the food plots yesterday. I sure do like hunting but watching is fun too. |

When I suffered my 5th snowmobile/deer collision my sympathy for them went out the window. The last one could have been bad. It came out of nowhere to clean me off my sled at about 60 MPH, seriously. Add to that 2 car/deer collisions, one resulting in a totalled car. Yeah I like watching them playing but I also like watching them through my Nikon, the one mounted on my X-Bolt. Driving home with our motor home from Florida, we were about 2 miles from home, driving about 45 mph, at 1:AM, one walked out in front of us.

Al,
Thanks for posting! Great shots of the baby and proud mommy! I like seeing them and still like to hunt them too. Although I don't hunt them as hard and some do get to walk on by more often. Regards, Chris |

Wow. I tried to dictate this into my phone and didn't realize how badly it came out. Let me try to fix it.
I like to shoot the Bucks also. But here in Connecticut we have so many deer that for every 3 doe you take they give you another buck tag. The deer are so populous that we don't even call it hunting anymore. When we are in the stand in Fairfield County we call it shopping because you can just wait until the one you want walks by.

Here in Michigan if you can not harvest a doe your a horrible shot.
In my area for those who want to shoot does you can buy over the counter 5 doe permits a day. ![]() |

A few years ago our population was to the point where if you wanted to harvest a doe it was like going to the zoo, then the winter of 2014-2015 hit.
With the record cold our winter kill was brutal, the losses were terrible. Last year I saw fewer deer all season than we'd see in a day the year before. It was bad. Fortunately last winter was extremely mild and it looks like the population is making a strong rebound. Even so we'll still use extra restraint when filling the freezer this year. It is our responsibility to manage the herd, we need to be responsible. |

have so many of the da-- things here any field of corn or beans no matter how large becomes a food plot. They will destroy anything under 20 acres in a couple of weeks. Destroy a garden in a few minutes. You guys planting food plots don't realize the problems you are generating for yourselves in the next few years!
