Just bought this Allis Chalmers 715 Backhoe. The Operators Manual shows in the listing for the Hydraulic Oil that it takes SAE5W-20 for cold weather and SAE20W-50 for warmer weather. The question is does hydraulic oil come in a SAE designation?

You could use 10/30 or even Universal Tractor Fluid with no problem . 
Or if you can get it at right price ATF. 
 Most Hyd oil R&O # does not have all the anti-wear or anti foam additives the above do

We use Universal Tractor FLuid-- 5 gallon buckets at local Farm Store.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I've used universal tractor oil in my 715 and 715B for 35 years.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed
