Just wondering will a 226 specifically a Gelaner E engine fit in a D-14 or D-15 is it possible? has anyone on the forum tried this what's the issues in doing the conversion... would love to know. Or if its been done would like to see pictures.
You'd think if people are stuffing V8's in these tractors you should be able to install another AC engine in D series.
Thanks, Jim

Much easier (and cheaper) to just buy a D17. As a bonus you get a better tranny!

I seen one in a "C" once years ago at Rollag Minnesota. It was either a prototype or a prototype reproduction. I don't think the G226 block is prestressed to carry the front pedistal. There is a picture of what they call a W-BC on page 71 in Swinford's book that shows a WC engine in a C.

Thanks for the info Mike. Unfortunetly I don't have that book but if they had a WC engine block attached to a C it must be possible with the right adapter plate. Might have to make a few changes with the clutch and fly wheel etc..
