I have a 175 and a 190 that the position contol (height/depth) lever doesn't do anything. Is this a linkage problem or a valve problem? Is the traction booster and position control handled by that same valve?

So if the tb valve is free and working it will be in the linkage? Kinda hard to see how things work under there, but at least I have a couple of tractors that work right...guess I will park them together and start studying.....the 175 I swapped out the L shaped mounting plate because it was rusted in half...maybe the linkage got repositioned wrong when I bolted everything back together. The guy that designed that mess must have been on drugs LOL!

Hello Eldon On my son's 175 we have had a problem similuar. From what I remember see what section in the valve body has the traction segement and remove the cap on the rear of valve, gently push- pull the spool, it needs to move. Hope this helps

Youve got something out of adjustment or just plain stuck. On a 190 there is a linkage on the right side that piviots on a boss on the front of the rear axle housing. That link can be turned upside down during a rear end split. Check it on a couple of your 190s!! Good luck!!

The position control is not in the valve body. Check the linkage - there is a piece of the position control that comes off the right side draft link. I've seen several that are broken (including mine), that would explain why it does not work.
