...The engine on the '40 hand crank B got stuck while it's been sitting for the last couple months. And since I was going to get it ready to sell to a guy locally who's interested in it, this adds more work to the pile. Got any ideas on an easy way to break it free? It hasnt been setting for years and years, just maybe 9-12 months and the engine hasnt been stuck that long since I used to take the hand crank and spinn the engine once or twice a week for the first few months. So I'm open to all ideas. However I don't have any HUGE tools that might help and I'm not interested in seperating the engine from the tractor. Oh well. Thats what I get for not keeping up with keeping it loose.

Penetrating oil down the cylinders. I like sea foam, some like Kroil. I wouldn't even waste time with pbblaster or wd40 etc. Let it set a few days, and give the crank a tug.

I'd pull the plugs, fill the cylinders with diesel/kerosene/oil/? and walk away for a day. Then try to turn her over, gently. If it doesn't, top up the cylinders with the d/k/o and walk away again.Try turning over next day,GENTLY.Repeat as necessary until she turns over. Then blow the d/k/o out the cylinders with compressed air, put in clean plugs and fire her up.You may need to change plugs from all the oil. This is what I did with my D-14 that hthhad sat for 30+ years and she's been fine for the past 7 years. automatic trans fluid has some good cleaning agents in it. mix it half and half with acetone to thin it down and that make a good penetrant. I have taken off the starter and pryed on the flywheel with a long pointed bar, or jack up one back tire and jerk it forward and back couple times a day to put a load on the crank shaft. Sometimes it dont hurt to pull the valve cover off also and tap on each vavle to see that they are not stuck. Could bend a push rod.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Kroil in the cylinders, pull the valve cover and squirt each valve stem.
Be gentle, it should come loose.
