I just got back around to getting the sheet metal done on my 15. I had painted this tractor, drive train and tires only, after a complete engine rework. When I pulled it out to test drive it the tranny was out with the normal gear problem. Soooo, back in the shop for a tranny rebuild. This has been a 7 or 8 year project till now so I'm anxious to see it completed. I rebuilt the tranny last winter but work interupted me getting it painted. My dad used the tractor most all summer and everything seems to run out well so I figured ot was time to finish things up. I put the paint on the driveline again last night and I hope to have the sheet metal finished in time to give my dad the tractor Christmas eve. I'm ready to assemble it tom. and maybe get the sheetmetal into primer. Still plenty to do nut it's finnally coming along.

I know I won't get them on in time but I'll need both pieces of sheet metal for the torque housing and a rebuilt or replaced traction booster gauge before I'm completely done. I bought 2 15" rims for it years ago but I'm not satisfied with the size tires availiable. Who has the sheet metal and a couple of new 16" 6 lugs rims reasonable.

Dave, I know the feeling. My D17 has been out of comission for a little over a year now. It's cold here and my tractor shop isn't heated.

If you want to make that steering wheel look great just sand it out nice and smooth with fine sandpaper and make you some cream base coat and then put several coats of clear and it will be nice and smooth and the paint will look an inch deep. I bought a new one for mine and didn't like the paint so I did it this way. You're tractor is looking good.JP

Dave, I can help with the side panels and a working or non working traction booster gauge. SEND me a PM or email me at djstractorparts@yahoo.com or call 734-320-3470
Looking good on the tractor, mine looks to be in the same state less the paint. Started this tractor business last winter and have not had time to paint and reassemble mine.

Well I may not be completely done, but it's close enough for me for now. Still have the to swap out a rear rim, put the larger tires on the front and put the torque tube covers on after I get them along with a Traction Booster gauge. All other gauges and tac work, cigarret lighter, and other factory switchs on dash work. I managed to salvage the orriginal headlights as well as resurecting the rear work light with built in red tail light. The decals gave me a fit but I've had them for so long they may have dried out some. I think it'll pass muster though, after all it will be a working tractor. I do want to thank Bill and Brenda at Sandy Lake Imp. for the help on a few items and to Jamie Sigmon who's just up the road from me about an hr. It's great to meet and make such good friends on this site. Sorry for being so long winded, but here it is. Hope everyone enjoys and has a Merry Christmas.

Dave, that is one sweet looking tractor. I know it didn't get that way without a lot of work, and I can say it is sweet looking! Did I already say that? LOL... It's sweet!

We took these this afternoon. I guess I'll let the pics speak for themselves. Thanks to everyone for letting me share this with my Allis family and for helping give me the confidence to carry through with this project.

Dave, awesome job! Lots of work in a short period of time there. Dad seems happy with the results. I hope to get an OK sign like that myself one of these days, but first I have to get started on it. LOL!
