what is this worth?

Synchronizers will go bad from time to time but green guys usually fix em rather than park em. When a tractor is worth more, it's usually worth fixing. The power shift was not the greatest thing in those either when I was growing up and they were still main horses. I guess the biggest complaint I always had about the 4020 was it was a fuel hog and a bit doggy unless it was turboed alla 4320. Same with the 5020 and 6030 both big dogs, though I never drove one of those but there were a couple around the immediate area. Way over weight and not at all a snappy engine made for real big dogs but back then Deere was never known for fuel efficiency and guts. Pretty solid tractors otherwise. Wait the shifting was not so hot on the synchro range models. Kinda mickey mouse and a reach. I never liked shifting them and if memory serves me right the oil filters aren't spin on so it's a little messy and same with the air cleaner being oil bath until the late ones came out. Then there's those worthless generators. Hydraulic couplers seemed to always leak bad with those poppet valves and it took a special tool to repair them. The split 12volt/24 volt electrical system is a real nightmare especially after a farmer gets his hands in it but I think by now many have done away with that stupid system. Not too handy to get at the batteries if you have a cab. Experienced that more than I cared in the cold. Green isn't without faults.
