Recently purchased a 5680 and was wondering if anyone could assist me in where to find parts. I looked on the AGCOParts site but they do not have a category for AGCO Allis.
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. Also the Temp guage does not work on the tractor so I am looking to find a new sending unit and have been unsuccessful. Has anyone had experience with the CHT units that just bolt to the head or is it worth getting an original sending unit. Thank you in advance.

When your on AGCO Parts Books click the Parts Books Tab instead of the AGCO Brand one. Under Parts Books there is a search and 5680 comes up, has a serial break so look at yours first. I will warn you that those tractors are built by SAME for AGCO and SAME has since refused to sell some things to AGCO show they will show as discountinued. Take the AGCO part number and call a Deutz Fahr dealer, they are part of SAME and can get them.

Thank you Dale this helps. I do have one other question. My machine does not have the intake pre cleaner? Is this normal for air cooled engines? The hole that is there for the extension tube is capped off.

We have a 6690 and the hole in the hood for the air cleaner extension is also capped off. Ryan

Thanks Ryan, was curious if it was normal.
I know they make a pre-cleaner so didn't know if it was normal or not. Also some pics I see have the pre-cleaner and some capped. |

The unit senses oil temperature. The sender is under the oil filter. 72276783 is the sending unit. Take the wire off - ground it - the gauge should peg. Also be aware this unit does have a radiator - it is in the bottom of the air cooling chamber - must be kept clean.

Ah senses oil temp. I will take a look when I get a chance. Right now I get no response from the gauge so assuming its a bad gauge or potentially a fuse.
Didn't realize it had a radiator, I read up on the cooling fins and the air filter, I knew it had a filter in a filter. Thanks for the info guys, I am still learning and appreciate the help. |

Also anybody familiar with the ether start kit on these things. I have never used one and curious as to how safe they are. I am actually trying to see how this one works as I cannot find the switch for it.
I am going to trace wires this weekend and see what I can find.

Somewhere in that time frame, Agco used an automatic ether injection system. It had a temperature sensor mounted on the block and would give it a shot of ether while cranking if it was to cold. Once the engine warmed up, no more ether. The air cooled engines, regardless of if it was the Deutz or the Italian engines, like you have didn't like or need much ether. Especially the John Deere brand.

It doesn't have a radiator like what your used to seeing. It's actually a oil cooler.

Correct, I reviewed the maintenance in the operators manual and it indicated the cleaning of the oil cooler. Thanks for the tip.
Regarding the Ether I don't iike using it, so didn't know how the auto part of the system would be. Hopefully I won't need it. I prefer to use a magnetic heater in the batter compartment. This had worked well for me in the past. |

I found the sender, thanks for the tip. The tractor has a loader and it was hidden behind the loader frame. Grounding the gauge did cause it to peg, so looks like I may need a new sending unit.
