Hello everyone i fired up the hdll after a long winter to push some dirt and after she warmed up a bit. The machine didn't want to stop after releasing the clutch. I pushed it forward really hard to engage the clutch break to where it started smoking on me. So it wouldn't stop i then idled it down and pushed dirt until it bogged down the motor enough to quit. After getting it back into neutral i started it up again and got it back into gear and started pushing again and released the clutch and it was doing the same thing kept on going.   Any ideas on what might be causing this? Thanks

Sounds as if your main clutch disc is rusted/stuck to the flywheel surface. You can either keep working the tractor with the clutch released hoping it breaks free, or replace the clutch.

Power on, power off in short and quick succession sometimes has luck where you are "shocking" the driveline.

Thanks for the suggestion, along those thoughts of rusted together i pulled off the inspection plate on top and everything looked amazing clean and zero rust to be found. I checked the clutch housing fluid. After i learned there was such a thing and after adding 3 gallons to what should hold 4.5 gallons it was back up to the full mark i haven't tried it yet but hopefully that was the cause of the clutch not disengaging

I had to do some digging but you have the then optional wet clutch in your machine. After a certain tractor number in the high 6900 range, the oil clutch was an option. Yes, lack of oil will cause them to heat and burn. Hopefully yours is not destroyed being run dry. The smoking you mentioned is caused by the clutch, or transmission brake to stop driveline movement to allow for gear, or direction changes.

How did you get it in gear after you started the engine? Did you push start?
