I've got a 2017 grand caravan in that will start then die.
I bought the harbor freight fuel pressure tester last night figuring bad pump. Come to find out they don't have the right adapters to fit but I was able to make something work. I was only able to test pump dead head which come to 60 psi. No codes for anything. It will start then die right after the initial high rpm sequence most vehicles do. But today I could get it to kind of stumble run if I kept playing with the gas pedal. It would miss, and pop, and stumble but would eventually die. I noticed that the air charge sensor/itake air sensor shows -88 degrees. Even unplugged that sensor does not change value. Sound I try and test pressure on the whole system not just what what pump will put out |

Going to find Multiple issues with that, Sensor is the Obvious, dying as idle ramps down could be fuel pressure regulator at engine rail gone bad, dumping gas thru the vacuum line/port, most likely fouled a mess of equipment and not going to be a quick change a single part to fix properly.

This is a single line fuel system regulated by a fuel controller.

Might try testing all of the sensors down the line in the fuel system. Never worked on that model but sensors would be same just located in different places.
I would go whole system test also. How are the fuel filters??? --- sometimes they slow the volume down. 60 psi is one thing but what volume is it putting out? Sounds silly but one small thing can mess up the whole thing. Sensors would be top on my list. --- hope its not a broken wire somewhere!!

Are you thinking the pump might not be able to keep up? Like it can dead head and hold 60 psi but once the motor starts it can't keep up?

I'm thinking it has something to do with that intake temp sensor reading 83 below zero. Called orielly and got a new one. 25 dollars I figured it was cheap enough to try.
But it still shows 83 below. I'm afraid we have a bad wire |

Had basically the same problem with my bride's 2012 Escape after my daughter borrowed it for a week or so. It would start then die, showed good fuel pressure. Finally took it to a local independent mechanic who was a former Ford technician. After a week of testing and chasing he found two wires inside the driver's side front fender well that some varmint had chewed in two. Took my daughter some good rat bars; a lot less expensive than another repair bill.
