.
I have a friend who says he bought a new WD45 Diesel that came with 16.9X28 tires on the rear.  Generally, I have questioned his memory on that point but he is sure it had those size of tires.  In all likelihood, if it happened, I'm guessing it was a dealer retrofit.  Anyway, I just bought a late 1957 WD 45 with 16.9 tires and it sure looks like a bigger tractor.
Does anyway know if the factory did put that size tire on the 45s?

13.6 x 28's were the standard equipment tire and 14.9 x 28's were OPTIONAL on a WD45 tractor, not a WD.

Per the Parts Catalog - WD-45 Gas and Diesel came with 13" X 28" Rims.

A 13" rim equates to a 14.9" Tire by todays sizing.

Both of my WD 45's have 16.9x28's, like them that way! Those Field and Roads amaze me how they pull in loose dirt!

I have them on my Diesel 45 and my 49 wd…
Thinking about putting 18.4R28 on the diesel.
