Dear Folks,
I just joined the forum. I sure could use some help. For over 20 years I have run a small organic herb farm and I have lost a fortune with inefficient cultivation. It would help me enormously to get an AC G engine model with all cultivator attachments. if anyone has such a tractor just sitting around for collection, and you could bear to part with it, please take pity and let me know if I could purchase at a price for using it. Many thanks, Brent

You would be well ahead to look into something like a CA. It is a small, powerful nimble tractor that many implements are available for and at half the cost of a G.
There is a front mounted 2 row cultivator available for the CA. The cultivators are easier to mount than they look. Many have the "Snap-Coupler" hitch with allows for quick change of rear mounted implements. One tractor with matching implements would allow you to do any chore needed, whereas a G has its limits and even though it is useful in its niche, it is about worthless for other things. Any G I ever owned had a short time around my place as people will pay crazy prices for them.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

Hello Paul,
I have a lovely little 4WD Kubota that I love. What really seems essential for my operation is the rear mounted motor of the model G, so I can see right below and in front of me what I am doing. I don't think anything else will work. So what are the "crazy prices" one could expect for a working model G tractor (not a show tractor) with its implements? And what would you suggest for finding one at the best possible price? Many thanks for any ideas. Brent

The rear engine isn't As much of a plus as many seem to think. I feel Gs, Cubs, Ponys and the like all to be about equally worthless for practical use. They do have there niche (sometimes only being an oddball at a show) although beyond that, NADA.
If you must have one, expect to pay $3500+ for one that just barely runs without any implements. Then anything you need to repair will be 2-3 times the cost, just for parts. By comparison you could likely find a nice CA with a plow and front mounted cultivators for $2500

If your wanting a rear engine design tractor like the G, John Blue built one (theres one listed on tractor house) very similar and currently tuff bilt makes one that is also of that design. Check on facebook market place there is usually a couple listed on there.
