Actually, if there's anyone here that can identify which weights fit which tractors, perhaps a fitment matrix would be a good addition to the forum...

I put the weights off my wd45 onto my d17, Fit just fine.

Looking at the stack weights that say fit WD45 and D17 on Brian's page, where do they go on a D17? They stack on a WD45 in front of the radiator right? There isn't a ledge for them to sit on on a D17. Do they go under the pedestal?

Brian,
On a D17 there are side rails that bolt to the frame rail. The weights set out in front of the radiator.

Thanks for the responses, guys! I should've indicated WHEEL weights (duh... brain fart).
Charlie- thanks for the link- obviously the ones I should look for are the AM2795-10's.
I assume they bolt to the wheel centers... is it appropriate to use multiple sets, and if so, what hardware is used to safely install and retain 'em (so one doesn't come unglued and smash my remaining 'good' foot?)

You may have a problem if you have a S III or IV D 17. The concentrics are different than the 45 and S I & S II D 17. The notches in the weights are not in line with the concentrics and you cannot turn them with the weights in place. I drilled new holes in the wheel center so the notches would line up. Then they work fine.

Hummm - How does that work ? How come I could not put the wts on my S III D 17 without modification ? Am I the only one that had that problem ? That is not a real high tech match up. Mine did not fit right. Can't think wheel centers are different. Whats different?? I know the wts fit inside the concentrics on the 45 etc and the notches do not come into play. But on my tractor the bolt on the concentric is closer to the center point and must align with the notch in the weight. I could put the weight on OK, just could not reach the concentric. Larry, are you trying to put the AM2795-10 weights on your D17? See Brian Ahart's web site for pictures: http://www.brianahart.net/wdrear1.jpg this site ID's these weights for both the WD/WD45 and D17, and I have had them on my D17 IV. Currently have them on the '45.

Dave - I just checked the ID numbers - 2795 - 10 The other side does not have a number on it but all are identical bolt and notch wise. That is strange !! Dave, when you bolt them on does the notch fit the concentrics or are the concentrics outside the weight like the 45s ?? My wheel centers are just like the ones in the above picture and weights same as on Brian's page. If you look at the weights the bolt hole is just off the notch but the wheel center bolt hole is half way between the concentrics - I don't see how they match up to adjust the concentric. Anyway my weights and wheel centers don't fit right. Maybe another combo does.

Larry, I have the weights on my '45 right now, but it doesn't seem there were any problems when they were on the '17. Used the fourt square holes on the wheel of the '17 and the same carriage bolts as I'm using with mounting them on the '45. Can't recall exactly where the eccentric bolts were with the weights on. I never move the wheels on the '17 as I frequently do on the '45, but when quickly measuring things a little while ago, it appears the eccentric bolts would be just outside of the weights. Dave

Dave - Does your D 17 has the same eccentric as the WD 45 ? AC changed the style of the eccentric on S III & IV so my weight covers the adjustment nut. I hope we have different equipment, if not - I don't know what the Hey.

Larry, my D17 is a series IV, so no it does not have the same eccentric as the '45. It has the large head bolt style. Maybe the weight rested against the eccentric bolt, I just don't recall. But it did fit on there. Dave

Yea, they fit fine - I had and have 3 stacked on each side. I just could not get to the eccentric bolt unless I rotated the weights about a quarter turn and drill new holes. I really hope one other person has had this problem. My misery needs come company.
