had french toast off the grill last Sunday, used the syrup that Sugarmaker made...WOW...that is some great syrup! ya'll need to try some, don't take near as much to coat the toast unlike the store bought! thanks Chris!

Wow never had French toast off the grill but do have a jug of Sugarmaker syrup and love it. It’s getting low and in need of replacement. Jenny likes it for recipes.

     Maybe a dumb question but do you use a grill with a grate that you cook on or solid sheet when you do your french toast? Seems like a grate would let a lot of coating drip through. Thanks.

You are correct there!  DON'T let Chris know this, between us.  But when my bride and I did the Maple thing they had up there, visit with them, we did buy some others while there.  Great event. Not saying who has the best, but I do know that we are bout out of it!!  Road trip!!  Them guys in that area, I have to say, know what and how to do it!!
Might just be seeing Chris for a update on the garage!!  LOL

I totally agree.  I bought the dark and extra dark.  We almost finished the dark and it was awesome.  I'm looking forward to the other jug!  Chris is a good syrup chef!

ac...i have a "Camp Chef" flattop grill. it has the solid top on it, or if preffered i can lift it off and the grates are in place below it. only grill made like that. i've never used just the grates yet. have done everything on the flat top. french toast, pancakes, eggs, bacon, pizza, steak, pork chops, veggies, hash browns, anything you can cook ina pan i can do on this grill. and the best part is...when cooking, it don't smoke! (unless you burn something). i have it inside my man cave on the deck and never gets smoky inside when i cook. it also has the drip pan on the front off to the side, easy to get to to clean, not like the Blackstone, it's drip pan is on the back and you hafta move the grill every time you wanna clean it. i did chick and turkey in chicky broth tonight, then cooked up some bacon next to the pan i was doing the chicky in, that is a good tasty combo to eat.

I have done pancakes and French toast on a wood fired grill for our family reunion. Just have a stainless steel plate that goes over the grate.

yes...i also have a portable flat top that i take camping, it's smaller, but fits over most grills of any kind. makes it fun to cook don't it Dar!

I bought a couple of them grill mats for my grill.  They are awesome.  I can cook about anything on them.  First time I ever made bacon on my grill and it sure was good.  And I didn't have the mess in the kitchen.  I never thought about it, I'll have to try some eggs and fried taters on it!  I might have to get one of them Man Caves like ole Shameless gots down there.

     Maybe it's time for a new grill. Have to check out your Camp Chef. I'm not a big griller but sure get tired of flames from the grease with steaks and burgers. Seems like a constant battle with them. Thanks.

ac...flames are a good thing if you want char taste...just don't leave them on the flames to gits burned.
