Folks,
We had a good turn out of various tractors and plow combinations: Red Green Orange and Gray. Plows from mounted to trailer. Pictures will probably be in several posts. I think I had 77 pictures. We may have some drone footage coming too. Weather was perfect. Maybe 12 tractors, 20-25 folks plowing and watching. Some snacks and drinks. Lots of visiting and helping others. Had some wet spots to work around. Had several break downs, repairs. Here is Matt the co-chair of the event. On my old TD6: ![]() My tractor with friend Ethan S. plowing. He did a nice job. Broke the needle off the new traction booster gauge. I think the fluid was low in the hydraulics. Was making some noise. Will look at that today and call Sandy Lake on Monday on the gauge that is supposed to not break!:) ![]() Regards Chris |

Brings back not so fond memories of sitting on a Deere R dragging a four bottom across 110 acres set fallow a year. Slow and steady and sleepy as well Sun burnt dry mouthed and seasoned at 14.

We did not have that, but there were some folks that did help others get going or adjust a little. Most of the folks that plowed with these are long gone already. Regards, Chris

We didnt plow quite that much maybe 60-70 acres. But I do remember some of the same exact feelings. It was work, even if you did like driving tractors! Hot and sleepy and dry, yea good summary! Regards, Chris

Folks,
Some additional shots: Several young men were mentored by family members, Nice job! ![]() Friend Mike S on my 45: ![]() ![]() Mikes CA: ![]() Dave E on his Massey: ![]() ![]() Matt's F20: ![]() They made short work of these 5 acres: ![]() Thanks to all the members and friends that came out for this event, our first. We are planning to do this again next year too! The land owner has some other plots where we can plow also. So more tractors and a little more seat time. Thanks for checking in on us. My WD45 home and cleaned up. Greased the coulters and set them on a pallet. I coated the plows with Fluid Film. Will see how that holds up till next time. Now to prepare for some tractor pulls. Regards, Chris

Chris, thanks for all the pictures! The old '45 looks right at home in the dirt. It's no secret, I'm a plow junkie. My favorite thing to do with these antique tractors. Though pulling the 'ripper' isn't too bad either! On the adjustments; One of the plow-days I attended last fall there was a JD, (3020 maybe), with mounted three bottom so far out of adjustment it wasn't funny. The rear bottom was barely in the ground. Had I seen it that day, would have tried to help him adjust. I noticed it in a video that was shot there. I'll see if I can find it.

Hey Chris,
Thanks for the pictures. Wondering what brand of plow did the best job of turning the ground over. Your AC did pretty well. Dad's 3 bottom on the 45 always did an excellent job on sod; no breaks kicked up so there were minimal chunks of sod on top after the disk.
