picked up a 5040 that ive been getting up to snuff.   Wondering what size implements i should look to get for it.  How many bottom plow, how big of 3pt disk, spring tooth harrow, etc.   probably prefer 3pt implements as opposed to drawbar style as im just using it for foodplots and have some tighter trails and hills to go over.  I have loaded tires, as well as a FEL.

I'd go with a 2 bottom plow,6 ft disk, a subsoiler to tear out the tree roots in the food plots.I also use an old JD 3pt ripper from the 1950's it tears up the ground and makes working up a seed bed easier and quicker.

only a 6ft disk? i figured it'd pull at least something that is even with the outside tires.  ive been looking at the 78" king cutter 3pt disk.   I pulled a 48" pullbehind with a atv.

5040 will handle the wider disc but figured you wanted to keep it narrow as possible.

ok, i gotcha.  I more am concerend with it just being a 3point.  Trails are wide enough, i just want to make sure i can cover the tire tracks, how big of a disk would the 5040 handle on the 3 pt? 8' max?
