Started out with the 1/2" transport valve nipple leaking . Ended up pulling the transport valve to fix messed up female threads . Now I need a gasket . Might as well change the ram seals and hose . Pulled lift arm housing . Might as well remove brake pedals and platform for cleaning and paint . Also removed them . This job keeps growing . Does this happen to anyone else ? THANKS !!

Oh yeh. All the time. Currently working on an OC blade for the cub. Figured just blast and paint. Well the pivot bushing and frame in that area are toast. Rebuilding that. And oh yeah the sandblaster pot and reserve tank and hose all needed redone before that.

na.. never happens..
though  while you're at it...
..might as well...
replace the PTO bearing
replace PTO gasket
replace both brakes and axle seals
replace copper gaskets on 3 drain plugs
install toplink bracket
get seat adjustment to actually adjust
...

na , never happens....

Ok... I've got more but the list is in the garage, used to be on my 33 yr old NAILED into the wall with 4" sprial nails(lots) workbench but that got removed today, filled in the cinder block holes with cement and sand, need to make a smaller bench ,good for a 6" vice, make some shelves for the stuff from next door ,oh yeah, find some BALANCED 8" wire wheels ,cause the current one is noisier than the 747 than flew past an hour ago...

Every time I go to do something, I wind up in deeper than I expected.

"Oh man I should put new wheel bearings in the front hubs!"

One new rim, some lug bolts, two new hubs, and all new bearings and races later... Oh, and a custom machine shim to take up the wear and slop, and a replacement hubcap, lol.

Usually triple the work and the cost, but I do it because it's fun (and because paying someone else to do it would not be economical).

Just so all of you know, there is a name for this phenomena, it's called 'Missioncreep' and I have suffered from it all my life!
I am still confident of this;
I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Ps 27
