Hello everyone,
I am a longtime fan of Allis equipment and am excited to be a member! I am a graduate student looking into some no-till Systems. I know that AC was a pioneer in no-till and therefore I would like to find some original literature put out by Allis on no-till. Does anyone know where I could find any for sale? Thank you and I apologize if this is the wrong page for this. |

Welcome to the A-C Forum. x2 on eBay. There's an excellent brochure on there now, just search "allis no-til".

Your research should be interesting. My grandpa bought a new AC 600 4 row no-til planter in spring of 79' I still remember as a boy riding along planting corn into standing fescue about middle of June. It was one of the first ones around our area, but not for long. We had 3 AC dealers within a 10 mile radius and they sold a bunch of those planters.

AC put notill where it is today. Deere took over the planter market with the 7000 but AC was first with notill. I started farming with an Allis 600 4 row planter. My dad told a story about the first Allis notill field day in our area. My great grandfather went along and they were planting into an old pasture field. My great grandfather said "You know darn well that will never work". He went back later that year and could not believe it made a crop. Notill sure saved lots of soil and fuel. I will also say check Ebay for brochures. Tom

The farm up-hill from me changed hands 3 years ago. Before it was farmed for horse hay, now it's farmed like farming before with plowing up and down hill, and fitted 3 times. With every good rain I get top-soil in our nice pond, and it turns brown.
I'm looking at building a diversion terrace to take that runoff around our pond. Dusty

Thank you all for the welcome! I do have a 190xt and a 175 that my grandpa left to me. I hope to someday restore both of them. I have searched eBay and found several brochures including the main no till brochure they put out. It is in Australia. I am thinking about buying it, but thought I’d wait to see if there was anything closer. Thanks!
