Tons of counterfeit stuff comes out if China and ends up in eBay and even Amazon (AMZ has a third party network where people can sell kind of like eBay and often you don’t know the difference)
My Company got hit with about $25 million of fake goods in the marketplace and it took a careful study of the packaging to see that it was fake. You can’t be too careful! The fact that they misspelled the name (may be intentional due to avoiding trademark lawsuits) says probably fake. |

I bought it from a supposedly reputable company in Georgia with the initials A D. If you do business with them, you can figure it out.
Not Ebay or Amazon. |

That (the first one) is an asian counterfeit of the proper part. Many years ago, one of my clients (a DOD contractor) sold some parts to a company in California, and about six months later, they found another company, elsewhere in the US, selling identical parts, under my client's brand listing, but for a much lower price. My client purchased some, and upon investigation, found that the counterfeiter copied the product, and even used a serial number series, but failed to incorporate matching date-code encryption. As a result, my client was able to not only determine for-certain which ones were real, and which were counterfeit, the authorities were able to follow the path of acquisition back through the importer, to the manufacturer, to the original buyer, and a whole bunch of people are still in federal prison for a variety of things... Be vigilant... the house that burns down as a result of this kind of thing, may be your own...

Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.

What amazes me is the counterfeit 'computer chips' that are being made ! OK, that switch piece ain't complicated to reversed engineer or make but itty, bitty microcomputers ??? You gotta sell a BOATLOAD of them to payback the 'copying' process.

So as others have noted, counterfeit product can find its way into legit, reputable Companies as they source from multiple Distributors/ Sources. In our case, Amazon had to destroy over a million dollars in legit inventory because they had mixed it with counterfeit inventory. As you might expect, they though we should buy it all back from them and resolve their mistake! Of course their 'offer' was respectfully declined and they had to move fast to avoid being fined by the EPA and FDA. This issue is very prevalent in over the counter pet medications....you think your helping your Pet but they can't tell you it's not working. Many Pet Retailers (Petco, PetSmart, Tractor Supply, etc) refuse to sell any products manufactured in China even if you can provide you're a legit Producer with high QC.
