We had them bad here, wife brought in flower pots from outside and and I
had a terrible time getting rid of them. I had three traps set out,
mixture of vinegar, sugar and dish soap, they were getting the little
buggers but not keeping up with the population. We had a cantaloupe so I
put a small piece of it in a quart jar, put cellophane tightly over the
top and poked holes in the top with an ice pick. Captured darn near
all of them within 3 days, little traps got the rest. I had to be in
Colorado all last week, I come home Friday, gnats everywhere, half black
bananas on the counter. I've got them about wiped out, bet when I get
back next week there aren't any bananas nor gnats. Hope I don't get a
craving for a banana for a long time.

Dealt with that with our home grown tomatoes had gnats on the plants and Sevin did not seem to bother them. Ended up the little vinegar bottle traps then one night of open windows they seem to have left thru the screens.

We are pestered with them also. Tomatoes from the garden seemed to attract them the worst. Pesky little buggers.
