Running a 190 maybe 250 hp need a new clutch After Saturday anyone have any suggestions.

I'm with Doug...a two plate clutch would be the way to go. Although, I have a few customers that I had install single plate units in D17's and WD45's that were running close to 125-150 HP with a single plate set up with 6 pads...they held up, too. So...I think by doubling up the HP from say 125-250, might be a tad too much for a 12" single plate 6 pad unit. I have installed heavier springs in the cover assembly and upped the plate load from about 1900# stock to 2800#! Don't think that 900# extra isn't a stiff clutch, because it is! LOL! Most guys don't care, because like I tell them...you're only sticking it in one gear to go down the track! A 2800# pressure plate with 9 sets of pads on it would probably hold that 250 HP though...Rick
