Ok I have completely rebuilt my pump new Orings, wear plates, new filter and fluids and then on top of that had to replace the oil cooler out front. Question is why is my power steering so hard to turn for and why is my pump getting really HOT!!! Now to answer and ? Yes I took the spool out and polished it really good.

Did you get the seals pushed down in groves good? Did it turn free after assembly? Did you torque the bolts even as you went around? Does it get hot without hydraulic load? Did the steering work good before the rebuild? Why did you rebuild the pump?      MACK

We rebuilt the pump because I lost all hydraulics while dicsing NO steering, no 3 arms would lift., That found blue Teflon in spool spring while I was cleaning it. Yes it gets hot when it not even under a load. Yes all seals we're correctly put in right and too it turn freely. Also we torqued all bolts evenly.

Is the releif valve inside the pump or behind one of those caps on the back side of the pump.
