I have a 190 and I have replaced the rear main seal twice and now this is going on my 3rd time...Anyone might a have a good diagram on how this seal goes in. I'm too the point I darn near split my tractor in my sleep. What am I doing wrong.

how many bolts in the flywheel? does it have a dowel pin ? Do you have the lip oriented correctly, did you replace the wear sleeve and is it correctly installed. Are you sure it is the seal that is leaking? also what is the fore aft movement of the crank as to end play... need more information...

I know the problem ! First time I done a rear main seal on an XT that was leaking
, put it together still leaked; split it again and inbetween the Adapter plate and engine there are 2 Orings , one big and the other smaller; these were hard and dried up so bad theres no way they could've held oil ,, just my experience

At the Harvey engine plant we used "square cut" O-rings on the rear plate/flywheel housings and to hold them in place during assembly a little spray of Scotch 77 was applied to the groves that were cut into the rear plates/flywheel housings.

Open part of seal goes to motor. Put a small amount of blue locate in seal ware ring before installing on crank. MACK
