Has anybody changed brakes without removing the fuel tank? I have always removed the tank but this time I don't want to disturb the paint if I don't have to.   Thanks Tad

Yes, you can roll the brake bands out without removing the tank on the dry clutch machines.  I know I did it once, can't really remember the details anymore, the jobs all run together after a while...

Sad to say Mactractor the finish is not what it used to be, to much California sunshine and Tisco paint, but  a bit of elbow grease and several bottles of "Nu Finish" and it comes back, not to it's former glory but a passable vision of what it used to be. The paint is faded and oxidized but not marked up at all and I would like to keep it that way.
Thanks Lazyts for the info, I think that this is one of those jobs that you only do once and learn a very valuable lesson, especially with the hydraulic pump right in the way of everything. I am going to make a run at it and see what happens. I only need to do the Left side, I bought the last two sets of OEM linning that Fresno Tractor had, I hope that they are the right ones, $150 per side for NOS new aftermarket replacement was more than double that

This is what it looks like with a bit of elbow grease. I have since installed a fuel pressure gauge in the open hole in the dash, an air cleaner vacuum gauge, headlights to fill the holes in the grill and most recently I am rebuilding the hydraulic control levers, they were in bad shape, one not usuable because of a broken spool but much better now, two control valves, I won't know what to do.
