The engine is the latest version of the Allis-Chalmers 844 cu.in. engine. In metric it is 6 cylinders and 13.8L.  Used in large crawlers, loaders, and pan scrapers. Earlier versions were 21000 and 25000 (intercooled) and then the same but MK II. Also used in highway tractors in the early to mid '70's and known as the purple people eater.
