Well here's pg 2 of the test from jan 30,1957 6. Incoming material is controlled. To within: ( ) a. 2 inches of the shear bar. ( ) b. 6 inches of the knives. ( ) c. 4 inches of the shear bar. 7. Most competitive forage harvesters have: ( ) a. No means for protecting cylinder such as we have. ( ) b. narrow throats that don't need any means of protecting cylinder. ( ) c. Much simpler, more effective system of protecting cylinder then we have. 8. The flywheel type of cutter has a: ( ) a. Variable cutting edge speed, but vary little deflection compared to the AC. ( ) b. constant cutting edge speed, with greater deflection than in the AC. ( ) c. Variable cutting edge speed, with greater deflection than in the AC. 9. One of the "built-in" reasons for more power requirements in a flywheel type is: ( ) a. Knives cut, but don't deliver material- need blower paddles too. ( ) b. knives both cut and throw material. ( ) c. Material comes into machine in a wide, thin stream. 10. The lawn mower type cutter: ( ) a. Uses the same cylinder principle of design as the AC. ( ) b. is very similar to the flywheel type. ( ) c. is completely different in every way from either of the other two types. 11. One of the main disadvantages of the lawn mower type cutter is: ( ) a. The fact that it is so heavily built. ( ) b. The fact that it needs a blower or conveyor with it to deliver material. ( ) c. Knives can't be sharpened in the machine. 12. The AC chopper cylinder: ( ) a. Lightweight for easy pulling. ( ) b. small in diameter, heavily built, with spiraled knives. ( ) c. 3- foot wide, big diameter and has a high deflection. Hear you go enjoy |
