Got a bunch of "old Allis News" from an estate sale. Old, like issue one. Any way there was an presentation 30 years ago by norm swinford about his upcoming definitive allis chalmers book. Anyway, they had a proof reading to see if he had missed anything. FOR A FREE ROOT CANAL(anesthetic not included), correctly guess which current forum member pointed out mr swinford missed four tractors and five power unit?

I'd like to know too !!! I don't remember any of this at this point. I remember Norm stopping at my business and raking a picture of my RC and talking about some things, but that's it.

It couldn't be much worse than listening to the neighbor's two-cylinder John Deere!

Found it. Aummer 1993 Old allis news "another feature of the banquet was a place mate which has a list of the production units of allis chalmers. This idea was brought forth by Ralph blum, so we must give him credit for a wonderful it was a wonderful idea. As alan Jones researched for information, ye editor set type and letters were, phone calls were made and faxes traveled, it became an even bigger idea.
You run the research and it was even personally checked by norm swinford. And we has a winner who identified there was four missing tractors and five power units, mr tom o'brien

Good job DrAllis & thanks for your contribution to Norm’s book. My Norm’s book has received much use & continues today. All of its model serial numbers! That alone is amazing.

I vaguely remember a supper meeting at Amana, Iowa decades ago??  Anyway, I've often marveled at Norm's master book of information. Sure, he had access to much tractor information, but all the other (and defunct) A-C divisions that he was able to scrape together their story, that made sense, was amazing. It certainly was a long labor of love for him indeed.

The “Allis Bible”so to speak. I refer to it a lot. Some great information and a big thanks to all that contributed to it. A lot of good history in it that so many of us would have never known. My only wish is there would have been more assembly line photos.
