Aren't we all so fickle about winter. The only good thing about winter is ICE FISHING.

Sturgis Mi and Mendon Mi got 3 to 6ins last night. Hope it doesn’t last too long as there is a huge amount corn and soybeans to harvest yet. One the worst falls I’ve seen in my life. Rains just enough beans will not dry down. Cut some Friday at 19 to 20 percent.

Had an Arctic Cat 440 back in the middle 80's, yep froze a tooter off. I don't have a snowmobile any more, but my tooter grew back.

NO, ice fishing is for you if you're OFF your rocker....

Winter is for snowball fights with the grandkids, pulling a toboggan around in the snow with the CA,,,,,or if it's too deep, the WD45.  HOT chocolate laced (liberally) with rum.  Snuggling with Gramma.. and IF YOU"RE LUCKY ENOUGH,,,,,,,,,working out in the shop with the wood stove goin!!!

Could be worse and a whole lot more have it worse. Shameless is in a class of his own. I should say a good class cause I don't want to have to pay to have a snow overload scraped off my roof.

I enjoy winter.  It's Michigan, what can you do about it?  I have my little snow blower tractor with the cab on it, so that's outside entertainment without the cold!  We took the grand daughter sledding last year.  That was more work than play.  She loved going down the hill, but then expected to get pulled back up the hill on the sled.  A year older, 4, this year I'm hoping she'll pull her own sled up the hill this year, and Grampa John gets to sit and watch.

I do have to have some sunny days during the winter!

I forgot to mention.  I woke up to a snow covered outside two days in a row last week.  I thought it was pretty and it helped bring down almost all of the remaining leaves.

Thursday and Friday was light snow on the job I am working on (picking up leaf piles on city streets)
So Friday trying to get around with streets icy with compacted snow - and driving a single axle tractor with a 28 ft end dump trailer  - I started up a small hill on one street only to have tractor start spinning out - applied the brakes and next I start sliding down the street backwards - 2 cars parked on right side - city truck on left side - large loader at bottom of the hill .
Well went backwards about 250 feet (straight as a arrow) and came to a stop . Boy was i sweating it - could just see wiping out couple cars and the city pickup , though the driver of the pickup was running to move the truck he did get it backed up around the corner
Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.

You do a lot of talking to yourself and some talking to the guy upstairs at the same time .
Then a little later I do to dump the load which  is about 10 tons of frozen leaves - trailer all the way up - move forward from dump pile and trailer starts swaying sideways - full front 3/4 of trailer frozen into box - even though it has plastic liner -
Had to have excavator in dump lot scrape box out once I got the box down ...
I am getting to hate cold and snow !

the old lady....oooops….I mean the loving wife wants us to gits another snow mobile, my back is already messed up beyond repair so I guess it wouldn't be so bad to get another one. I always said that between riding a snow mobile and a bull is what screwed up my back the mostest! then someone said more sex would straighten the back pain out! i'm still waiting for that to happen, but having fun in the meantime! wished I still had my Terra Tiger! sold it to buy a snow mobile...boy was I stupid! I still wanna go ice fishing, but the fish house would hafta have a flat screen, a couch, a stove, a potty, a bunk, a heater, a dry bar, a window, carpet, insulated, coffee pot, and a few other nessesities!

You just take it easy on them snow machines,,,,,  an I didn't say it WOULD,  I said it MIGHT and it couldn't hurt to try....Wink
