Retired dealer told me that when F's were new,120bu corn was the norm around here and 6-30's worked ok.As yeilds went higher they got to be unhandy because of bin size VS row lenght.Sounded logical to me.Seems like there was some mention of tie bracing on finals for 6-30's on a F/F2.

i've seen quite a few "F" s with 6-row 30 heads, think there is one coming up on auction this month...poss on "big iron", can't remember. i know on my "G", i took another granin tank extension off another G, turned it upside down and it bolted right up, no new holes to drill, may try that with another F extension. (it's the screen part)

Rear end is light enough with a 4 row. We can run 4 mph+ in good corn with a 4-30. Bin is too small too for 4 rows and long rounds IMO.

Bin ain't big enough for 4-30's let alone 6

If only I could turn back time!! It was in the mid 1990's and my father was interested in upgrading our combine, but was also alittle unsure about spending the money when he was getting up there in age and could just rent the ground out instead. I remember he took me to a farm to get a advance look at a gleaner that was coming up for auction later that week. It was a 87 green strip F3 with the rwa and every freakin option including the power fold ladder!!! It was a cherry!! If only I would have pushed him just alittle that combine would be in our shed today but back then I was busy chasing gals and drinking beer!! I wish we had that combine!!! Ryan

JD Straight Through Seeders (STS) do the best job of planing crops in my Area. Ol F2 does good except for a little head loss when the corn is dry. I would love to see a picture of these F-series combines with a 6-row.

I have Corn plus with 6 rows on it , no problem with 6rows other than the bin could be bigger. I even have a late F with 6rows on it. This works out better with a 6 row planter. I may not fly but I do get the down corn and do not have corn in my beans the next year like farmers around me do with the new green combine seeders do.

I have heard of the 6-30's but have never seen one on an F3. We have an F2 pushing 4-30's at about 3mph, and I think 6-30's would be a little load, but sure would look cool.

Found an ad for the 1987 F3 that had RWA shows it picking corn with a 6 row head!! Did gleaner make many RWA and 6row head to fit F3's I have never seen one in person.
