Hi,
I have just finished rebuilding my Allis Chalmers D272 Diesel with Perkins P3.144 engine. Stickers are still missing, next job to do.
It runs well, but this engine is very noisy. I put in a new STANLEY exhaust. Noise level is still high.

I am looking for an exhaust that would be quieter.

Does somebody try to put motorbike baffle, Cheaper DB Killer from China ? at the top of the tracteur muffler?

With this engine, the tractor vibrates a lot, especially above mid engine speed (1000 rpm). Are there any solutions to improve this. I guess this has to do with that 3 cylinder engine.

Did you try this tricks to reduce noise of your muffler
Stuffed 3 of the steel pads down exhaust outlet then topped it with the reducer. It is super quiet with a really nice sound? Is it efficient?

You did a nice job of restoring your D272. The Perkins 3 cylinder in my 160 is quite loud as well. I’m sure the canopy I have on it amplifies it. Just think it’s the nature of the Perkins. Mine has been fully overhauled and it still a bit noisy.
