My HD-9 has a bent equalizer spring and was welded in place, out of its intended location by the previous owner. My mechanic and I were able to break the weld and lift the eq. spring off the track, so we can move / float the body over the undercarriage.
The spring is oriented incorrectly (not like a leaf spring up and down, but it is on its side), which I thought was strange. The previous owner must have hit something really hard, LOL. Does anyone have any tips for finding a replacement equalizer spring? It looks bigger than a semi-truck spring so I don't think that would work. Maybe a custom build up with that spring tensile-steel? Part # 056038 TIA! David in TX Edited by dfoshee1 - 0 hours 60 minutes ago at 4:41pm |
