I have been wanting to ask this question for a long time. How do so many Snap coupler latches get their springs damaged? I have personally used these devices for over 40 years, and my father and grandfather before me. We have never managed to damage any springs. It seems like all the latches for sale on E-bay, as well as other sources, have missing or damaged springs.

Mine were all damaged as well - no idea how. The tractor only worked on our farm. Can't remember any thing specific. I think maybe they got caught by equipment the odd time as you were hooking up. We were always very careful. not much damage on the tractor. I replaced all the springs.

I bent mine by wrapping a chain around them pulling posts. Actually I wrapped higher but it slipped down on them. I know better now.

I think Mojo called it right "THE CHAIN" will get them I have rapped a spare chain around the lift arms when they where down and pulled something with a different chain on the drawbar and had the lift arms raze up and get the springs before. )>:
