Have an opportunity to buy one of each. Unfortunately neither are running at this time. What are the things to look for?
Not familiar with D series Allie's. Seems I recall hearing something about 3rd gear jumping, and something about the power director? |

those are things to look for, but if there not running can't really check for a gear jumper.
the power director: you can listen and feel for a good Snap in the High and low range, Middle is neutral. With the thump button held down by your thumb put the lever in high or low it should stay there and snap when you move the lever back to neutral, do it a couple times it should be consistent. dan

A series 4 with a wide front and factory 3 point is a very nice tractor. I had one. I grew up with a series 1 dad bought new in 1959. It had over 30000 hours on it when he sold to a guy who restored it. The power director had never been apart but it needed an overhaul. The motor had been overhauled 3 times. Good luck with your purchases.

Just put an offer in on them. Dealing with a third party, (hired to clean up an estate). Thinks they will take my offer. I priced accordingly for price of non runners.
