My starter button and ignition seem to check out ok using multi-tester. However, when I try to connect the negative cable, I get a sound from the starter. I have rechecked the wires. They seem to be connected properly. Any ideas? Thanks.

If there is no voltage coming out of the switch to the small wire on the solinoid, but the starter induces when the battery is connected then you have a solinoid that has welded the contacts together. You might take a wrench and smack the solinoid and get it unstuck to varify but replacement of the solinoid is needed as it will do it again. |
