Need help.... My friend pulled my D15 series 1 diesel out to put up the Christmas decorations but did not open up the fuel bowl. He left it running and it finally stop. Now I can't get it fired back up. Opened the fuel bowl but I am unfamiliar with how to prime it. Never let any diesel I had ever run out of fuel. How do I get this thing started back up?

You open the fuel shut off. If you have working priming pump use it to speed the process. Open the bleed ports on the filters to get them full, when clear fuel comes out the filter breeders close them. Open the bleed screw on the injection pump, or crack the line coming from the filter to the pump. Close the bleeder/tighten the loosened line once clear fuel isflowing. Now crack the high pressure lines at the injectors. Make sure the injection pump shut off is in the run position. Crank the engine over with the starter, fuel doesn't go, to the injectors unless the injection pump fuel shut off is on and the pump is turning. Tighten the injectors lines as you seethe coming out of them as the starter turns the engine over. It should start.

Crack an injector line, pull it with another tractor till it starts, tighten injector line. Saves starter and battery.
