MY son and I just bought a D 15 series 2, drove the tractor into the barn just fine, went to back out and the left side brake just locked up. Never did brakes before on a tractor, so Any info to lead me in the right direction on fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

First off, the D15 series II is a great tractor so congratulations. Before we jump ahead and tell you how much of a job this is, I would check linkages and anything that may be interfering with the brake from releasing. Is the pedal down or up? Do you remember activating the brake when this occurred or was it stuck when you backed up? Did you have the brake in the locked position? On the 15, you have to press the bake pedal, pull back and up on the brake lock lever to release it. Kinda of tricky if your not use to it.

Need to remove the rear final (axle). 1. Remove the floor pan. 2. Remove linkage rod & spring. 3 Jack up side, block and remove tire. 4. Use engine hoist to support the final, remove the 4 bolts and slide it out. Brakes are drum brakes; take note as to how they are mounted before disassembly. It is advisable to replace the inner pinion shaft seal at this time.

after looking it over real close, It looks like the problem maybe in the final drive, I,m  not 100 % sure but It looks like I may have a gear gone bad or a bearing out. Before I take the bottom pan off any Info that can help us out before we start. Thanks Guys for help so far.
