This is the big 1"+ Pivot Shaft that is on the top - connects Coupler to transmission housing. This bugger is stuck and stuck good. It was pushed to the right slightly at some point in the past - looks like it sheared or jammed the left side cotter pin in the hole. I have tried pounding on it, heating slightly and pounding, pipe wrench... Nothing. What would you do to loosen this thing up? Do I need to heat the area up more that it slides into? Not sure how much abuse the casting of the trans housing can take before i bust something good.

Things I'd try in increasing order: Soak it with ATF for a couple days, then spray with Kroil, PB Blaster, etc. Heat around it, cool the shaft with ice. Air chisel with a rounded end to vibrate it. One guy on here swears by applying beeswax when red hot. If none of that works I'd make a judgement call and torch the shaft apart, thinking easier to replace that than anything on the transmission, etc.

If you have enough working room you could also try drilling bad side, tap with a smaller bolt and then use that to pull outward like a gear puller. Or weld a nut on it to pry/twist while tapping the better end.
