Not many 7Gs remain now, likely no one will ever need the numbers of the materials I bought for this one.

Current prospect is Not Allis even as still own a 180D.  Wife has convinced me a Larger Truck to replace the Rusting away Ford to pull a RV and take life a LOT Slower and Tour a LOT More rather than beat myself to death endlessly.  Thinking maybe she is right.

A dead 2005 Kenworth W900L is being aligned to come from Oklahoma to here, to be rehabbed into a Personal Trailer Toter and be retired from Heavy Haul Service.  May perhaps convert from a Tandem to a Single axle for the duration, perhaps keep as Tandem.  Know full well with Arthritis and other maladies will be the Final Big project of my career in them.

The new owner made an average of 33.3 MPH, must have taken a nap for a bit, or not...  I'm sure you will have a great time converting the Kwamper in to a K camper!

Maybe you should put a purple AC engine in it, I remeber seeing them on the road in the late 60s and early 70s would pass everything

Unless yer gonna play trucker on the side, get rid of that front drive axle and all that unsprung weight. The little woman probably won't want the "truck" ride.

Headed back down to the truck the 16th, gonna help to ready it for the haul back.  Stripping all loose parts, are a shed full of remnants when moved tanks forward to set the pusher drop axle.  Has KW Eight Bag air ride, 46,000 Eaton Full Locker differentials.  Double frame so is heavy.  18 spd Eaton/Fuller, shift empty like a Nine Speed but has Hi/Lo in Lo side and Hi/Lo High side of every gear, a tank of a tranny. Cab is a walk thru to a 54" what is called a 'Flat Top' sleeper, not much used as Heavy Hauls generally have to bed for the night hours and often take hotel rooms.  Engine is a C15 Cat, w/p was a leaker and engine got hot, they were not certain How hot, replaced w/p did no good head was busted to hell and gone, had been REALLY hot.

Already been on the horn to Cat techs have been friends with long time, said I need to get the sleeves out inspect upper liner bores first thing if engine is even salvageable.  That passes muster then on to inframe kits, IDP is a good aftermarket parts supplier for these, about 3/5 Cat costs, CTP is another where a Fully loaded New head(no core) is less than 2/3 the cost of a Cat reman that also requires a core charge.  Cam will need an inspect then the electronic injectors replaced.  This was what was know as a ACERT Series engine, early version Emissions unit, twin turbochargers and loads of issues.  Are kits to change down to a single turbo and eliminate a ton of heartache.  Engine prefix BXS, last step on rebuild or engine exchange will be reflash Engine Control Module to a 6NZ prefix, LOW Emission control electronic.  I now have access to CAT SIS for parts and manuals to work this, some tooling to come up from OKLA when I need it.

From there I am aware the airbags have age and ozone dry rotted, there are a couple bad torque arm bushings to the rear ends and the tail has a special plate for RGN Heavy Haul Lowbed trailer handling which will need to come off.  My bud is removing the drop axle and the Chain rack headache rack, I need neither.  Will have to purchase four additional 24.5 aluminum wheels and then set ten tires to pavement, brakes will be inspected same time and any air leaks during runs worked accordingly.  Will be tons of bugs to work out for a short time.

As I come home the 18th will have all the loose stuff on my trailer or in my pickup, all going into the workshop as I return.  The truck itself comes up weekend of the 24th or first weekend Nov.  My GMC project and the old Rust Ball dump truck (spare parts for GMC) go back with him.

Will post a load of pics when return.

For the troublesome twins, check of the switchblade turbo.  Jpaydirt on youtube has put a couple on his cats and documented it.  He loves them.  Works like a variable vane turbo without the moving parts that cause all the trouble.  I would put one on my 7.3 if i could afford it.

Be a great truck at completion. 6NZ prefixed C15 very favorable engine. Those 18 speed trans lend themselves perfectly to skip shifting. When unloaded on flat road, just four shifts to top gear.
