who have been allowed to make rules and go unchecked. Ordered stuff from our work warehouse, ordered one, got three and attempted to send two back, total weight, including boxes, 3lbs. Problem is, marked hazardous material, had to drive 20 miles to the only place that would ship it ground, call and have someone come outside the fence, pick it up and take down my info. Day later I get a call, can't ship it, Hazmat sheets aren't aren't the latest, need to update them and active ingredient needs to have a parenthesis around it. After a five minute speech from him and telling me that I need to come pick them up because if they have to destroy them it will be expensive and they will charge our account. So I ask him what the active ingredient is and he reply's, "4% Sodium Hydroxide." OK, number one, the hazmat sheets aren't so bad that they don't know whats in it, and number two, it's flippin LYE SOAP!!! For crying out loud, my grandparents bathed and washed clothes with it. I'm just gonna have to start my nightly prayers with, "Lord, help me stop my damn cussin."

Jerry Clower had a saying for those idiots: "educated beyond their intelligence."
The lye soap will get you clean and back in the day people had enough sense to not eat it. Like you say-the government is dumping the bad stuff on us. |

How bad is it !
When in the NAVY we had to inventory supplies and turn in shortages . Were suppose to have 10 tool kits for working on AV GAS handling . They were brass tools (non Sparking) and Aluminum pipe wrenches with brass jaws . Stock on hand was 20 - results no paperwork for extra so needed to dispose of them as no way to send back or account for extra - could not give away as Navy property - SO ordered to dump 10 sets overboard to solve problem . |

Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.

Same thing aboard the DDG I was on. Any excess in the electrical shop went overboard. Then on to the Fire Dept. End of fiscal year you HAD to use up any excess monies in the budget or your next years budget was cut by that much $. Stupid waste.... Should note that it just wasn't the FD but also the PD, waste water treatment and the street dept too.
