this year! the old lady.....ooooops….I mean the loving wife and myself sitting on the deck sipping hot cidar watching the renters harvest the field next to the house! o-k...so they have a new green combine, 3 straight trucks with aluminum boxes, and one semi, and a green MFWA tractor with a new grain cart. the trucks are all sitting up on top of the hill, back away from the highway. they have the grain cart and tractor sitting right along the highway (she says they want everyone to see their shinny tractor....like "look at us"), the combine comes to the end of the field, drives past all the trucks, drives all the way down the hill to the highway and unloads into the grain cart. then the combine drives back up the hill and starts combining again. the cart goes and unloads into one of the trucks and returns back down by the highway. the combines next round comes all the way down from the end of the field again like last time except it turns around and then they drive side by side along the highway unloading on the go, cept the combine isn't combining anything as they are doing this, and twice the combine drove right past all them trucks so they could show off down by the highway! then the cart unloads in one of the trucks again! we laughed so much, I could sell tickets! as they worked their way back away from the highway more, then the combine would just dump into the trucks as they were way to far away from the highway then! they parked the tractor and cart.

I guess they have to justify having the cart? Sounds like the opposite of the Clampetts go to Maui

They wanted to keep you up on the porch, didn't want you out in the field pointing to all the grain getting seeded out the back.

You did keep track of how many times the combine unloaded Wink right.

Were ye laughin at the three ring circus? not nice... specially when they wee just puttin a show on fer you...
waite, maybe they were doin that just for your entertainment for the day...

My uncle was telling about one of his neighbor that was combining oats on a field near his place, and they would be combining and dumping grain into the gravity boxes and the fellow would take off and "unload" when the grain was showing over the top... it was impressive to see all the fully loaded gravity boxes leaving the field, but what was funnier was the fact that a 60 bu. hopper was filling the wagons 'full' in just 1 dump...  which should have taken at least 3 dumps to fill... and the wagons coming back to the field did not sound empty. LOL

Gee, were there any TV cameras around??Wacko Amazing how some guys can seemingly afford to waste that much time. We do 120 acres corn/day 8 rows at a time, and are usually one of the first ones done in the area. And then I hear how many beans are still in the field with snow on the way and it makes me sick. How fortunate they must be.
