Just brought home the 7080 last night and getting it unloaded and in the shop before the rains start. New paint, interior, duals, full service etc. It'll make a nice tractor to pull the planter, baler and spreader with to give the other tractors a partner.

I remember seeing those in the literature when they came out and always liked the checkered tires in front. It'll be nice to see the pics when she's all painted up.

I know you will give the 7080 a new paint job and it will probably shine new again. Somehow, its present appearance in it's humble work clothes gives a fitting tribute to her longevity. No doubt it is still pulling strong. Great photos!

So if I read into Byrons comment correctly those checkered tires might have come on the tractor?

It may not be the factory tire but that is exactly what they looked like. I used to stare at that picture of the 7080 in the Allis brochure for hours. I had every 7000 sales brochure there was when I was a kid. Idiot me threw them all away. Whats worse when my dad closed his Allis dealership there was one office piled high with brochures and manuals as far back as the 50's. If I had asked all that treasure would have been mine.

Butch's feeble memory is correct. The diamond pattern was OAEM on a lot of the 7080's.

That one is even the black belly; better yet. I remember their commercials with the 7080 pulling the train cars. As kids, we thought that was pretty cool, even though Allis wasn't my favorite at that time. Good thing I got wiser in my old age!
