I will be there, its a foreclosure sale, there has been little or no maintenance on the tractors for a number of years. I saw the 220 pull on blacktop this summer, pulled pretty good.

We are going too. Be there with my wife. 8070 was run hot on the prop. Knocks when it gets hot. Everything looks very poor.

Being a foreclosure sale, there might be some bargains there if the buyer is a good mechanic.  At least they ran the right brand of tractors!

I talked to the auction company and some of the tractors and the skid steer were taken to a local shop to see if they could fix some of the issues, everything is supposed to be there today sometime to look at I guess. I think it is all pretty rough, but who knows.

I stopped in today. Only things that don't "look" half bad are the 185 and 7040. 8070 is a junker. Front axle needs to be totally gone through. Front drive shaft slider is wore out, flops up and down and around. Cab is like a rats nest. Needs new seat, interior, everything. Needs front tires. Lots of seals. The long axles have been cut off. 7000 is a dirty old pig that they painted black. 190 has a combine motor cobbled into it. Front axle is hitting the crank driven oil pump oil pan. The 220 is set up for pulling. No 3pt, stripped down some with a non-advance FVP roosamaster with bigger lines and my guess injectors too. A 3lm turbo. So all and all a bunch of old girls that need LOTS AND LOTS of attention.

Thought the sign said viewing on Wednesday --- huh.  The local shop they went to was not the local AGCO dealer...

I think the 7040 is missing the 3 point arms maybe

I stopped today also and had pretty much the same opinion on things. The 220 has a bigger cam and injectors were upgraded along with the head was fire ringed and it has a dual disc clutch, he only used it for pulling. Tried selling it to me for 11K last year because he needed money.

That's just up the road from our cabin where I have my tractors. Word of caution don't eat at the Thorpedo. (unless it has changed!)
Everything is impossible until someone does it! WD45-trip loader 1947 c w/woods belly mower, 1939 B, #3 sickle mower 1944 B, 2 1948 G's. Misc other equipment that my wife calls JUNK!

I'd be interested in what the 45Kw alternator goes for.

And is the transfer switch included? A 45kw transfer switch would be VERY pricey.

I'd say no but do any of us know the full situation?

I did go to a sale about two years ago where the guy was losing the long held family dairy  farm. I talked to him before the sale and he sounded pretty down. I felt bad for him as he seemed like a real nice guy and he had a young family. That said there wasn't one good piece of equipment on the sale except for a fairly new ripper. What came first? The crappy equipment or the money shortage?

Had real good neighbors (two brothers) that went bankrupt maybe 15 years ago. The reasons were complicated and involved a lawsuit with a grain elevator or something on that level. But within a year they had gone to each business they owed money to and paid them all off. A couple of the best neighbors we ever have had.

About a dozen years ago when I was selling hay, a young couple came to look at the hay. They had a real nice Dodge diesel pickup and they owned several horses. I had advertised the hay fairly cheap but cash only. They wanted to write a check but I said no. They then offered to trade a horse for hay and I said I had two horses that I already didn't need. They drove off and about 5 minutes later the guy called and offered to bring a good check from his uncle and I said go to your uncle and get some cash. He hung up and I never heard from them again. They were both young but had rotted teeth. I suspected they were hooked on meth. I also thought that if they were that hard up, they should sell that pickup and or the horses. A case of self inflicted hardship without a doubt.

Looks like the 185 was the best bargain of the bunch.  The guy who bought the 8070 got the worst.

I agree, the 185 was the first one they sold and was the deal of the day.

We bought some stuff at the auction. 8070 3rd link 50 bucks. Pipe threaders from 3/8"-2" and a pipe vise for 125 bucks and 3 slab weights and a starter weight for the 220 for 50 bucks and sold the starter weight to Tim for 20. So it wasn't a bad day. Kinda was Pissed the 8070 want so damn high. Went up to 8000 on it and it kept going...

No I didn't see it sell either, after they sold the parts and weights I was after I spent most of the rest of my time waiting for the tractors BSing with Tylers Dad. LOL
I got 4 wheel weights for my 6080, the big weight from Tyler and 4 dual clamps and that was it for me. I do know that a guy bought the 220 puller back for the kid that lost it and he is going to let him work it off next spring/summer. I thought that was damn nice of him, good to see some nice people out there yet.
